Healing Through Art Taster Day and Enrollment Q&A

Please join us for one or more Taster Days if you are interested in enrolling in the new cohort of our Healing Through Art program this July 2025. These online classes will allow you to meet us and experience our way of working.
Experience guided color and a sculptural activities. Reflect upon the sense impressions of the colors and forms, as well as the experience of the activity, and explore how this can be led into a healing process. We will have time for questions about the three-year Healing Through Art program.

Cost: $25

This lecture will be presented via the Zoom platform. Registration is required.

Healing Through Art Program

2nd Cohort Beginning July 2025


A 3-year postgraduate therapeutic visual arts program working out of the Anthroposophical understanding of the human being.
The Healing Through Art program guides students through a deepening process over three years from the hygienic and enlivening aspect of artistic activities into the deeper understanding of human nature, individual life journeys, and the ability to facilitate artistic therapies.

Dates: 2025-2026
Summer session: Two weeks in person: July 14-26, 2025, Spring session: One week in person: March 27-Apri 3, 2026 Online Saturday classes, 9am—3:30pm PT: Aug. 23, Sept. 20, Oct. 18, Nov. 22, Dec. 20, 2025; Jan. 17, Feb. 14, Mar. 14, 2026

Storytelling as a Healing Art – With Nancy Mellon

Explore pathways to story making and storytelling that strengthen heart wisdom and inspire vital creative confidence. Teachers and parents today need to nourish their own inner life to fully embody the comforting warmth, stability, and honest goodness that children seek. This requires courage and belief in the value of our own authentic feelings and voice.

Nancy teaches refreshing approaches to inspired story making and storytelling that evolve more conscious expression, heartfelt resilience, and wellbeing for both adults and children! All are welcome. 

Nancy Mellon is a counselor and mentor who has nurtured storytelling of a healing art internationally since the 1990s. A former Waldorf teacher, her courses and workshops brim with creativity, inspiring deep listening and vital new perspectives. She is the author of several books, including Storytelling with Children. Healing Storytelling, the new third edition of Storytelling and the Art of Imagination, is published by Hawthorn Press UK. healingstory.com

The Healing Power of Art with Pamela Whitman and Ken Smith

Discover the healing potential of art through painting, light and darkness drawing, sculpture, and form drawing. Develop your artistic abilities, build observation skills, and increase your sensitivity as a foundation for therapeutic artistic practice. The Healing Power of Art program is also a preparation for our 3-year Healing Through Art program.

October 2024-June 2025 | Cost: $1,080 ($120 per month)

Instruction via monthly online classes with follow-up assignments

In our time, there is a widespread need for the inner benefits that artistic work can provide. Artistic work is able to stimulate remarkable forces of healing. It is calming, centering, engaging, and enlivening and can direct our own life forces of health into positive pathways for our body, soul, and spirit.

The Healing Power of Art program will build a foundation in the health promoting aspects of art and provide the groundwork for further studies. This program is for people of all ages and levels of experience who want to discover the therapeutic aspects of art, with the online format allowing participation from around the world. Students will receive the most benefit by having their own workspace and by developing a routine of regular art practice.

How do we find a contemporary and healthy relationship to being the “doorkeepers” of technology’s effects on children? We need to be both better informed and more proactive in rediscovering appropriate new thresholds that are true to the underlying intentions of Waldorf education and also true to the realities of our time.
