Whats New This Summer at Rudolf Steiner College: Year One Summer Teacher Education Program Revision, Partnership with MERISTEM, and More.
In response to the changing field of Waldorf education, Rudolf Steiner College (RSC) is announcing several revisions to their Year One Summer Teacher Education Program.
Highlights of the changes include a shorter summer session, and ongoing mentoring support by RSC faculty. Summer work will now be enriched by Fall and Spring sessions. For practicing teachers, there will be dedicated time for support, guidance and practical planning for the upcoming school year.
This summer Rudolf Steiner College will also feature a wide variety of Professional Development Workshops and Conferences–from The Art of Teaching and Early Childhood Education, to the Waldorf approach for public school teachers, to Advanced Biodynamics and Consciousness Studies.
Waldorf Remedial Education will be featured in the Extra Lesson Educational Support Conference in August. In addition, RSC will offer a free, weekly Lunch & Learn†Conversation Series on topics of special interest during July. An all-new Summer website now offers streamlined access to registration, course information, and their new Summer 2015 Programs and Workshops guide.
In other news, the deeply held social mission of Rudolf Steiner College, which is core to Rudolf Steiners work, now finds a new and exciting expression through RSCs partnership with MERISTEM.
As a Postsecondary Transition program for young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental differences, MERISTEM provides Practical Skills Education, Transformative Movement Education, Independent Living Skills and a Transition to Work program–all on the Rudolf Steiner College campus.
The first cohort of MERISTEM students will be on campus September 2015. In addition to providing much-needed support for a growing population of young adults on the Autism Spectrum, RSC President Liz Beaven anticipates that this new partnership will greatly enrich the work at Rudolf Steiner College, providing opportunities for study, research, collaboration, and an expansion of the practical arts.
