The School of Spiritual Psychology
announces The Spiritual Evidence Project
In conjunction with two courses beginning in the fall – Experiential Spirituality: Forming the Council of the Heart and Contemplative Conversations on Christ and the Emerging Human as Healer, the School of Spiritual Psychology announces the forming of The Spiritual Evidence Project.
Many, many people are receiving experiences of spiritual presences – angels, the presence of one who has died, Christ, Mary, perhaps Buddha and other Presences. These experiences typically occur outside the context of religion. There is nothing available that provides support and a community of heart-listening as well as open conversation that recognizes the extreme importance of these encounters. They are individually important, and also of significance for Earth. Nor is there any gathering of these experiences together that begin to reveal that we are entering a time when such experiences are more and more prevalent and form the way to the emerging culture, the spiritual presence of ‘The Comforter.
We at the School of Spiritual Psychology are opening a place on the Schools website, where people can describe spiritual experiences of every sort. These will be available for all who want to be of help to read and perhaps, in turn, describe similar experiences, and engage in caring conversation. The ‘language of spiritual experience, we expect, will be varied – narrative, poetry, poetic writing, painting, drawing, music and perhaps even very new forms.
Religions tend to doubt the kinds of spiritual experiences we are most interested in – direct, immediate, occurring spontaneously, or while in contemplation or meditation, or occurring in dreams, or in daily life, or with the Natural World, Earth. Doubt is not the same as denial, but carries a tone of skepticism and asking for proof. But, the self-evident is its own evidence, and needs community and trust.
The two courses – Experiential Spirituality: Forming the Council of the Heart and Contemplative Conversations on Christ and the Emerging Human-as-Healer will develop the naturally present capacities for both noticing spiritual Presences and more importantly, how to tend such experiences — how to be with them, remember them, care for them, and begin to be open of heart, and describe experiences in such a manner that fosters their reappearance. This kind of educating of heart and soul will be an invitation to others to notice this emerging time that we could call the opening of The Age of Trust.†Join us in one or both of these courses. Participate in the Spiritual Evidence Project and help us form this conversation.
